Is there anything more refreshing than a cold glass of orange juice on a hot summer morning?
Add sparkling wine to orange juice and you end up making an equally refreshing Mimosa.
Those are nice served with a buffet breakfast!
I rarely have sparkling wine in my house but I can usually find leftover white wine in the fridge.
Instead of letting it go to waste I used it this time to make white wine ice cubes to chill my Orange Ginger Soda and turn it into a Half-Sober Mimosa!
Why is there a grape frozen in the ice cube?
I tossed it in to make the ice cubes look more interesting. And you get to enjoy the drunken grapes when your cocktail is done!
I also found it best to be patient with this drink. Let it sit for a few minutes to give the white wine ice cubes a chance to melt into the orange juice and ginger ale. Makes it extra tasty!
Whether you call it an Orange Ginger Soda or a Half-Sober Mimosa, it would be great served with a big July 4th buffet breakfast or as a refreshing summer cocktail!
