Five Ingredient Sloppy Joe Sandwich - Homemade Sloppy Joe's in 10 minutes

If you see me preparing Sloppy Joe's it means I’m hungry, I want comfort food and I want it fast!

The easiest way to prepare this messy sandwich is to buy Sloppy Joe seasoning mix from the store. Stir it with cooked ground beef, serve it on a bun and you're done. Quick and easy!

A more involved way to is to make the seasoning mix from scratch. It requires extra effort but you're rewarded with that authentic Sloppy Joe flavor!

I like quick and easy! I also like authentic tasting Sloppy Joes!

What's a hungry guy to do?

I believe I've found a remedy...this Five Ingredient Sloppy Joe Sandwich (6 if you include the bun).

To satisfy the need for "quick and easy" you use a small can of green chilies (you'll find them next to the taco shells at the grocery store) to replace traditional spicy ingredients such as chili powder and paprika.

I also find a single can of traditional pizza sauce is a good substitute to replace the tomato sauce, tomato paste, ketchup and garlic often used to make this sandwich.

Use lean ground beef, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce to keep it tasting authentic and you'll have this "sloppy" good sandwich on your plate in 10 minutes. It's hard to beat that when you're hungry!

  2. Chelsea your comment got me thinking if I would go for a sloppy joe over a good burger with all the toppings. It's close but I'm leaning towards the sloppy joe!
